My art training began in the Soviet Union and continued in France and the United States. I have a BA degree in Russian and French Languages and Literature from Baku Pedagogic College, and an MA in Art History from Montclair State University. I have also studied interior design and traditional painting at the Marshutz School of Arts in Aix-en-Provence, France.
My career as an interior designer, artist and art historian began in 1996. I specialize in interior design, historic style research, trompe l’oeil, faux and mural painting, and whimsically painted furniture. I also create “soft” sculptures which are a combination of sculpting and sewing.
I was an active member of the Montclair Art Museum, Montclair Historical Society, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance. At present time I am a member of Seacoast Artists Guild, Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild and Charleston Artist Guild.
I actively participate in juried competitions and exhibitions in New Jersey, Connecticut and South Carolina.
A number of my paintings received awards at New Jersey Federation of Women Artist Exhibitions in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, the Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance and Danbury Fair Juried Art Exhibition in 2010, and at the Seacoast Artist Guild Juried competition in 2022.
I like to work in both traditional and non-traditional techniques while experimenting in various media using paints, pastels, fabrics and clay as materials for my paintings and sculptures. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.

My art is very eclectic and expresses many different emotions and concepts. The subject matter of my paintings and other art forms are spontaneous inspirations based on real life experience, literature, and intuition, at times delving the depths of my sub-consciousness. My art is a metaphor for life and nature. My works are imaginative and symbolic.
My goal as an artist and art historian is to stir in viewers an emotional reaction and allow them to see beyond the subject of the art.
